3 days 3 islands

Challenge: We visit 3 islands in 3 days.

On a sunny morning in October we had an idea of experiencing the adventurous life of the 3 Nusa islands near Bali through a 3 day long trip with the result: we should come back for a longer period of time.

1. Nusa Lembongan

The closest to Bali among the 3 islands. It took 35 minutes by a local boat to get there from Sanur beach with a price of 600.000 IDR for return tickets for 2 people.

How did we get around?

As we thought it is a small island (8 km2) with small distances, therefore no motorbike rental is needed. The result was a 6 hour long walk in swelter.

What did we see?

Mangrove point and forest, Dream beach, Sunset beach and Devil’s tears

What would we visit again?

Dream beach

Any difficulties?

Salty, cold water in the shower in our accommodation

What did we like the most?

Sunset and the white sand on Dream beach

2. Nusa Ceningan

As the Yellow bridge collapsed a few weeks ago, local people bring eveyone there with their boats. (cost: 20.000 IDR return / person)

How did we get around?

As we thought it is even smaller than Lembongan, with even smaller distances, therefore we walked 3 hour long in swelter 🙂

What did we see?

Cliff jump, Blue lagoon, Seaweed farms, the private beach of Secret Point Hut’s

What would we visit again?

The Yellow bridge once it will be rebuilt

Any difficulties?

Due to low tide we could not jump at Blue lagoon

What did we like the most?

The turquoise colored water and the private seaweed farms

3. Nusa Penida

It took 10 minutes to get there by local boat. Price is 300.-400.000 IDR for return tickets for 2 people.

How did we get around?

Compared to the other two islands it is quite big (200km2) but with limited tourist infrastructure. We rented a motorbike for one day.

What did we see?

Crystal bay, Pererenan sunset point, Seganing waterfall, Banah Cliff, Kelingking beach, Gamat bay

What would we visit again?

All of these

Any difficulties?

Undeveloped roads which are not on the map and no dining possibilities except some small shops run by families.

What did we like the most?

We got lost and found Segening waterfall, view from Kelingking
